General Sales Manager

The General Sales Manager will oversee and lead the activities of the Sales Department to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the General Manager, the General Sales Manager will oversee and lead the activities of the Sales Department to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

I. Effectively develop and execute a plan to recruit and promote new dealer consignors and buyers.

II. Grow the number of vehicles sold and purchased from existing dealers.

III. Develop best practices, train, and manage the sales team including metrics and sales goals.

IV. Prospect, upsell, and manage accounts to ensure growth in vehicles sold and average sales price.

V. Coordinate and develop marketing strategies (with RAA marketing department) for new and existing clients.

VI. Work with General Manager and sales team to meet or exceed auction’s sales goals.

VII. Generate new business to grow sales revenue and a loyal customer base.

VIII. Ensure repeat business by building, supporting, and maintaining customer relationships including existing relationships.

IX. Engage with customers in a transparent, reliable, and positive manner.

X. Service accounts through all available channels including in-person, phone calls, and emails.

XI. Demonstrate knowledge of vehicles including specialty products such as boats, RVs, campers, classic cars and other specialty equipment.

XII. Ability to address service issues and come to resolutions. 

XIII. Performs other related duties as required.

 

EDUCATION | EXPERIENCE:

● Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or related field required; or comparable record of sales leadership experience required.

● Five years of related sales experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

● Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills.

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

● Practice and promote teamwork at all times.

● Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

● Strong supervisory and leadership skills. 

● Understand the competition and the advantages of doing business with RAA.

Physical Requirements

● Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

● Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.

● Must be able to access and navigate the production facility.

● Travel required as needed.
