FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Where are my license plates?
Your license plates may be with the Reposession Agent who towed your vehicle. Your lender should give you the name and number of the agent. Your license plates may be at the Richmond Auto Auction. An RAA representative will confirm this after you have made your appointment request. You may purchase a temporary paper tag at the Richmond Auto Auction for $5.00 through the DMV website with a credit card, debit card, or check.
Q: Do I owe money to the Richmond Auto Auction?
You may or may not have charges to be paid. A Richmond Auto Auction representative will confirm any charges after appointment request approval.
Q: Can I send someone else, or have a tow company pick up my vehicle or personal property?
Yes, with a "Third Party Release" from your lender. Specify this request by email when you receive the appointment approval confirmation.
Q: How do I find my vehicle's VIN?
You can find your vehicle's VIN through your lender or from an Insurance Statement.
